On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American, died in Minneapolis, Minnesota after a white police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for almost 9 minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on the street. This very unfortunate incident brought back to the table many questions and concerns about the relationship between men. The Bassays, after living in the United States for 3 years, in a predominantly white community in Searcy AR., Are rather filled with fond memories and gratitude. In this special broadcast, several names are mentioned in an attempt to show that the incident with George Floyd, while unfortunate, is less about racism and more about sin. The refusal of men to submit to the will of God. Those who do not want to live according to the Spirit live only according to the flesh (racism, tribalism, fornication, adultery, embezzlement, corruption, wickedness, rape, etc.) If we want a better world, the solution is God in Christ! Only the word of God transforms. We can have racist or tribal tendencies but Jesus heals. And even if we leave all the injustice of this world (discrimination, oppression, racism, tribalism, etc.), we have peace in Christ and this peace surpasses all understanding.
